Single sheet matted and framed (9 x 5 4/8 inches), original botanical watercolour and gouache on vellum, including pansies and roses, signed lower left by the artist "Adele Riche".

An attractive floral posy by Adele Riche, pupil of Jan Frans van Dael and Gerard van Spaendonck. Riche, best known for her portraits and still lives, contributed three illustrations to Michaux's "North American Sylva", First published, in French, in Paris between 1810 and 1813, with only 138 plates, and in English in Paris in 1819.
