Second revised edition, first published in 1839. The original edition showed Texas as a republic; this updated version has Texas as a state, with the border along the Rio Grande del Norte. With a very interesting map of Australia, divided into “West Australia” (including a part of present-day Northern Territory), “North Australia” (encompassing present-day Queensland), “South Australia,” “New South Wales” (encompassing Victoria), and “Tasmania,” bearing the notice “Formerly called New Holland.”
