First edition, number 57 of a limited issue of 280. “Artilleryman of France.” The larger portfolio contains two small-format gray paper portfolio cases, one containing loose text pages and the other containing 26 loose plates of beautifully colored illustrations of French military costume. Josso was a French engraver, illustrator, and orientalist painter who exhibited his work in the Salon d’Automne in 1930, as well as in Morocco.
